Old ring & pin

I’ve had these pieces stashed away for literally decades, all but forgotten. I looked for the ring hallmark, can’t find it - but it seems familiar…anyone recognize it?

The pin - I remember buying it a really long time ago (think decades) and I think they told me it was a Fred Harvey piece, but isn’t every old pin a “Fred Harvey” piece. Any thoughts?

As always, thanks!!

Great vintage pieces. I’m totally unfamiliar with the ring’s hallmark. The pin looks like it was made in the Fred Harvey era to me. I think a long time ago, I had stumbled upon an online web site selling/featuring FH jewelry. I can try & find that site again. Wondering if that bail was a later addition to the piece?

The bail could have been added down the line - the wire appears to be silver - but looking closer I think it’s glued on rather than soldered.

The turquoise is green, not blue ( I have never figured out how to take jewelry pics).

I found that web site that I referenced earlier. It’s https://www.fredharveyjewelry.com (Currently, there are 14 items listed for sale.) However, if you press or click on the menu (3 bars upper left corner) there’s an historical treasure trove of Fred Harvey information available. Hopefully, it may help you I.D. your pin.

Great pin! What I find really interesting about it is that it looks like it was originally patterned as a ring, but left flat and repurposed as a pin. Hard to tell from the photo, but the bale looks soldered from here - perhaps a soft lead or tin based solder – would explain the irregular shaped surface around the bail if acid based flux was used. The other interesting feature is that the bail looks like an eye for a small button or hook. Perhaps this was originally meant to be worn at the top of a blouse?

I assumed it was tix too, but it’s definitely glue - tho there could have been another bail there because it does looks like a puddle of solder under the bail. :woman_shrugging:

Interesting thought about it looking like a ring band - maybe. The metal is 18, heavier than I would expect for a pin, tho when silver was cheap it may have been the norm.

The Navajo pin I have from my mom looks like it was supposed to work as @mmrogers suggested, and it’s pretty heavy.
