I’m kinda disappointed the seller went crazy with the polishing. The natural patina would’ve been better in my honest opinion. The stones look stabilized/treated. He claims the cuff weighs 137g
Frankly, having two hallmarks? Weird…
I went with my gut (everything i’ve learned here with you guys) and your insight and holy cow i’m glad i didn’t buy it . Something definitely off with that piece in particular. I’m all for heavy silver (silver hoarder) but ‘sterling’ and 925 at the same time? Shady…
I have some relics without hallmarks yet confirmed NA through and through like my Amish background yikes
Thank you @mmrogers for confirming my suspicions, truly appreciated
When you said 2 hallmarks did you mean the stamps “Sterling” and “925?” I don’t see any actual artist hallmark. I have seen both of the silver stamps on non -native made jewelry, but only a few times.
In general Native American artists don’t use the stamp 925, although very rarely certain artists will. I have a ring by Milford Calamity that is stamped 925, but I also bought it directly from artist, and his stamp is on it.
Wait…you have an Amish background? I grew up in an Amish area, and apparently my great grandparents were Amish (I never knew them)!!
Yes, indeed. I’ve never seen both sterling and 925 in one NA piece alone. As you said, 925 is a bit more rare in my own experience which is very, very limited.
