Hello, i got this pair of 925 earrings recently. Are these Navajo? Please help me identify the maker’s stamp. Looks like VSS or SVS. The earrings have inlay work. Not sure whether it is mother of pearl with small strips of crushed gemstones? The strips are glued. Please help. Thank you!
I would not call these Navajo earrings, possibly not Native American. The white is not mother of pearl, possibly bone?
The white material has the grain of ivory - possibly elephant or walrus.
did I brag about the walrus tusk I got? 15in long,about 6 around at top.
paid a whole $40
& just came across a sterling “baby” cup that’s big enough to cut&bend into a cap for it
Thank you. A part of the ivory inlay fell soon after i took photos. Looks like a thin sliver… like a slice the way one sees with mother of pearl, abalone or shell inlay. So i thought it was likely mother of pearl. Can bone like ivory be sliced that fine?
