I bought this ring recently from a seller I have bought from before and trust. She says it is rolled ingot and “the thick shank band is actually part of the rings base. In other words it is part of the actual ring and not added on. @mmrogers could you explain what she means and is it true? Any opinions are welcome.

The shank is a casting, @joebig. From the looks of it, sand cast. Only the leaf is fashioned from milled sheet. The ring is handmade, the workmanship is professional, and the turquoise natural. Very nice ring.
