I was in Kalispell Montana last weekend and picked this up from a local pawn shop there. I am stumped pretty much all around. I am pretty sure it is not a calavaza or a simplicio(no leaf). I have not seen anything like this, especially with two articulated segments. The fangs are very pronounced, and the body is not attached everywhere. Any thoughts on Turquoise type, Artist, or value would be appreciated.

That is cool. I would call this Zuni, looked but don’t know about an artist. Found this on on Shiprock Trading Snake Bolo Tie with Turquoise Stone, c.1940 | Shiprock Santa Fe, a mystery for them as well. We default to Zuni because we Navajos have lots of taboos with snakes. However, it could be Navajo. The bolo has some age, huge rock, interesting piece, $600 area.

Thanks Jason! I just love these mysterious pieces! Lets my mind wander about the history, people who have owned it and the person who made it.
Great piece, thanks for sharing!
