Robert Johnson Carinated Cuff

So, while visiting with Robert and his lovely wife, Lenore, hubby was admiring her bracelet. She took it off and handed it to him. He couldn’t believe the heft of it. Robert then goes to his truck to show Scott a piece of triangular silver, may not be the right term. Hubby is fascinated by what Robert is explaining to him. I said to him, why don’t you order one for yourself.

It arrived a couple of days ago. This cuff is so amazing in person.

I love that!! It looks great on your hubby. I almost bought a similar one at the Eiteljorg Art Market a few years ago… And then I found Reggie Mitchell’s booth…

I might be tempted to get something like that this year, except I really am on the lookout for big rings or some more heishi and/or Navajo bead necklaces.

Just stunning!
I love the heavy gauge carinated cuffs!

I have a medium one (1 gauge wire-10 mm) from Lyle Secatero, but I sure would love to have this type of heavier one(0 gauge wire-13mm) …

Thank you @Stracci Scott loves this cuff. I’m so happy that he was able to meet and get to know the Johnsons. They are the best kind of people. I hope they’ll come east someday.

Really like the cuff and the story behind it.
I only have a small carinated bracelet. And, it is nickel silver.

OK, I forgot I had posted it here.

Here is another photo of the hallmark and bracelet.

It was purchased in 1986 at Thunderbird Supply in Gallup for $2. We bought many of these, brought them to Wisconsin and sold them to a gift shop on the Bad River Reservation near Ashland.
At the time, we were their connection for Native American jewelry from AZ and NM. My in-laws lived near Ashland, so we were there a few times per year.
We were also selling items at a large flea market near Ladysmith, WI.

@fernwood Thank you for sharing your story and the bracelet. It would work great alone or as a stacker.
