Robert Shakey - faked artist?

Recently purchased this pendant off of Facebook marketplace. As I am looking into “Robert shakey” I get the impression that a lot of the stuff I am seeing online is probably not authentic. It seems like a wide array of styles are attributed to this artist. Thoughts?

I used to have a ring with his hallmark that I felt was legit, but I lost it years ago  My ring was a very different style than what you have, but if I remember right that’s what the hallmark looked like. And obviously we know that stores make mistakes, but I did get it at a museum gift shop in AZ.

That is a beautiful stone in your pendant!!

You know what, thinking about it, I think mine just said “Shakey” or “R Shakey” and sterling with no first name, but I may be remembering that incorrectly. Plus there’s not a lot of room on a ring so he may have used two different hallmarks. But I really have no clue, I haven’t looked into it.

I don’t know about the name, but love the pendant. I love the green and blue and browns of the stone!

I’m guessing Royston

Thanks I like it too - I felt like the price I got it for was reasonable for the size of the stone ($120), so that makes me like it even more!

@Emily Not sure how I missed this thread. That’s a fabulous pendant! My comfortable guess is that it’s Royston turquoise.

Gorgeous pendant. I have two or three of his pieces and none are similar. In fact one cuff is oxidized completely black with applied moons and stars. I think he worked in different styles.
