Hi all
The seller has it in their retail store for a while and it never sold, so I ended up buying it under scrap. They were going to melt it down because to them, the people on the pendant looked so sad and depressed probably because they had four kids.
I donāt know anything about the artist but I was wondering if this expression was normal and I also noticed the dash marks in the silver are only on the inside with the family and not on the outside. Then I thought that maybe the family was made first and then put on the silver sheet. Itās an interesting piece and was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on it. Itās marked R Livingston. Thanks a bunch ![]()
@CyanideRose18 Hi ~ I checked my Bille Hougartās book, āNative American and Southwestern Silver Hallmarksā but, I donāt see a listing for R Livingston (though there are several other Livingstons listed). My book is the 3rd edition - perhaps this hallmark appears in a subsequent edition.
Thanks so much Patina
I appreciate you looking it up for me.
I believe my saguaro pendant is made by Robert Livingston, and I know he is Navajo, because he collaborated on the piece for BritWest. I will double check when I get home.
Yep, I just checked on an old thread.
I canāt remember exactly what the hallmark looks like, but I think it was very much like yours.
Thanks you so much Ziacat
I love your pendant. I donāt believe I have anything in Sonoran yet. I saw a piece yesterday I liked but it have a big chip in it, so I passed but I would like a nice piece with that turquoise in it.
@Ziacat Another keeper pendant.
Hi- Iām a newbie here. Iām thinking this is representative of storytellers. Their mouths are open because they are ātelling storiesā (to teach) to the young.
Thanks so much
Much appreciated.
Iām adding this now that I finally actually looked at the hallmark on my pendant, and even though itās the same name, the hallmark is different; so maybe not the same maker?
Thanks Ziacat
Sorry I missed this. I have been dealing with some health issues but hopefully on the mend ![]()
Whatever it may be that youāre dealing with, youāre in my thoughts, hereās to your getting better soon. ![]()
Praying you continue on the mending path!
Thank you so much
I really appreciate it. It has been tough but Iām determined. Thanks so much again.
Thank you so much Ziacat
