Hi all! I’m searching for any biographical information on contemporary Santo Domingo/Kewa artist, Lupe Lovato. I purchased this hand rolled Kingman turquoise and spiny oyster bib necklace, but can’t seem to find any artist information!
We see him probably one a month. What kind of information are you looking for, I will ask.

-When did Lupe begin rolling heishi? From who did he learn the art from?
-About how old is Lupe?
-Is there any family relation to other notable Santo Domingo artists like Anthony Lovato or Ray Lovato?

I will ask, not sure if the current virus situation will translate into not seeing him for a while. I imagine he is in his 60s.
