Seeking information on Navajo necklace.

I recently inherited this necklace. My aunt purchased it in 1961 at a Gallup, N.M. pawn shop when she was a nurse at the health center. I’m trying to find out any information about the piece including possible date. Thanks for the assistance.

That’s a pretty piece. I have a similar one with coral and while looking through an old book one day found one dated 1975 that looked just like it. It’s always good when you know where it was purchased and when. Oh, I forgot to say welcome to the forum.
I have one other suggestion. You might want to repost this in one of the categories in a separate post. That way it will get seen much much easier. Unless you need some sort of value, the easiest one is identifying and discovering. That way, it’ll pop right up in front of everybody when they check the site.

It’s a nice necklace. Simple, and elegant. Beads look handmade as do the findings. Naja is sand cast, and set with what looks like a calibrated round cut natural Persian Turquoise cabochon. Definitely a keeper.

You said it was purchased in 1961, and I don’t see anything that seems out of place with that date.

Thank you. That’s very helpful. I wasn’t sure if the beads were bench or hand made.

Fluted beads look like they could be either.
