Shell Mosaic Pendant Lovers

We now have threads for concho belts and buckles, heishi and other categories but I did not find one for all the varieties of shell mosaic pendants. So I’ll start:

My 3 more traditional ones. Left is by Mary Coriz Lovato. Center is by Christopher Nieto. Right is a “Depression Style” one with what looks like cement as a matrix.

But I’ve seen an incredible variety of really amazing works in this format. Please share yours!

And here’s another variation. It’s in the form of a hand (with MOP nails!). And inside the hand there is a bonus :slightly_smiling_face:.

Beautiful pieces @Cicadalady Thank you for starting off for us. I don’t have any but love to see what others have.

Wonderful shell mosaic pendants @Cicadalady. I also love this wearable art form, so I’m excited to see a variety posted here. Most of mine are older pieces, several by unknown makers

First is a more contemporary pendant by Mary Coriz Lovato. I purchased from her at the 2022 Heard show.

These overlay shells were purchased at different times and places and set in silver by a NA silversmith, Lucky Preston (Washoe)
The shell on the left is by Charlotte Reano.
The shell on the Rt is by JB Wagman

Older MOP inlay shells set in silver.
The cross inlay shell has c1970 written on the back.
The bolo has an unknown RD hallmark.

And last, but certainly a special shell with fine turquoise & MOP overlay, is by Angie Reano Owen. I showed her the piece in 2013 at Market in Santa Fe and got a picture with her. She’s such a sweet gal!

@Bmpdvm - Incredible collection! I love the way this format has continued through the centuries and continues to evolve.
