Just wanted to share what’s brightening up my day while the clouds are gloomy.
I’m wearing my favorite snake eye ring, signed Haloo. It’s always a go-to piece for me.
My first Native American jewelry purchase was a Rick Martinez cuff, and it still holds a special place in my collection. I love the intense blue, and there are very small specks of pyrite in the matrix. The cab has backing and it looks to be stabilized. I don’t know the cab’s mine origin. The cuff is admittedly a bit large on me, but I may add some backing. That said, I don’t mind the size since it works well over long sleeves.
I’d love to see what you’re wearing today as well! And if you happen to have any Rick Martinez or Haloo pieces, I’d really enjoy seeing more of their work.
Both are beautiful, but the cuff is simply outstanding. I am consistently drawn to cuffs with one central fabulous stone. I have several, but none has a stone that large!
@mmrogers That’s such a cool piece of history to have crossed paths with Pete through your work!
@RedlandMaggie That’s a beautiful buckle, I enjoy how balanced the design is. Do you wear it often, and may I ask how you’ve acquired it? Most of what I’ve seen by R Martinez are cuffs with a large central stone.
@Ziacat Thank you! I haven’t actually measured the cab, but now I want to when I get home. It’s the largest one I have. Cluster/ petit point cuffs are certainly pretty, but don’t personally hit me with that “oomph”. Probably haven’t been exposed to enough of them yet.
I’ve had the buckle so long I can’t remember where I bought it to be honest. I used to wear it all the time - I’ve gotten a little tubby so working on getting back into buckle wearing shape.
