Hi Everyone
I have been down a rabbit hole of discovery to find out more about this Artist Jenn Garcia,
Can I just say right off the bat that I am a little worried about posting into this group as i have read many of the post and reply’s to people that I thought that a few were a little unkind, and taking the Urine out of people who are new, thinking that they have found a holy grail of Turquoise jewellery.
I just think everybody has to learn and as I beginner myself I am quite sure that I will make many incorrect assumptions, so please don’t come for me, I am here for guidance and to learn from people much more knowledgeable than myself.
So back to Jenn Garcia
This is what I have found so far
from San Felipe Pueblo
3rd Generation Silversmith
Specializes in Contemporary pieces
Signs her pieces Jenn
I have a pendant and chain that I have loosely attributed to her but looking at other pieces by her i am not sure.
Other pieces seem of much neater construction, but the Turquoise used in some of her work do look very similar to mine.
Her bezel settings do appear to use both smooth and toothed as I thought that might help but it doesn’t really
I really am here for information and knowledge, but full transparency I do sell the pieces I pick up as at the moment I can’t afford to keep them, but I WILL !!! (Eventually)
Thank you for your time, I really don’t want to offend, I hope I haven’t

I found a lot of the same info on her. I agree with you that the hallmark looks the same, and that the pendant looks a bit different (especially the chain - maybe it was added by someone else?). Maybe she is on Facebook (I am not, so can’t tell), and you can contact her? If you cannot find out for sure, you should be careful with attribution if you sell the piece. As far as the mine, without provenance, it is all educated guessing, and again, you shouldn’t list a mine when selling. However, if I had to guess, I prob would say Kingman since I believe I see some pyrite, and it doesn’t look quite like Morenci to me.
I’m sorry if you feel we are sometimes abrupt with answers, but we believe in honesty, which people don’t always want to hear. Also, many come on simply wanting to get $ appraisals for their stuff, which isn’t really the focus of this site (and anyone who digs in and reads before they join/comment can tell - that’s what I did). There is so much misinformation online (especially eBay and Etsy - I generally don’t trust those sites) that people just take as fact, that it can get frustrating for us to try to explain. This is (IMO) a great forum for people who really want to discuss and learn about Native American jewelry, but that entails a lot of reading. Before I joined I read almost every thread on here. I know that is not something everyone can do (especially now - it’s grown a lot), but I highly suggest new members read quite a bit if they truly want to understand the art. And from what I’ve heard, this forum is a lot nicer than many places on the internet.
Welcome to Turquoise People, and I hope you will enjoy reading and learning here.
Hi Ziacat
Thank you for that, Honesty is what I am after, I totally take on board what your saying and have really enjoyed reading the post so far, I am quite an unsure person by nature and as this is the first forum I have joined I suppose I didn’t want blasting out the water as I know I have a lot to learn , I feel alot better now thank you, please accept my apologies, I look forward to lots of learning from all of you.

Do you live in Europe? I was thinking that for some reason, but I might be wrong. I imagine it would be much harder to get good information overseas. If you read on here, you will start to learn which sites online are best to look at.
Well we used to be, lol, not anymore, I’m from the UK, so not officially part of Europe now , Yes I will you guys post some great links.
Very quickly, I like Perry Null, Durango Silver, and Garland’s.
I will check them out , Thanks your a gem!!
There’s a fairly new topic on the forum that you might enjoy - Resources for Native American Art. This thread in particular…
New Category - Native American Art Resources
TAH added a link on books, and Bluegreen linked the Southwest Channel for videos.
