I’m no expert on turquoise specimens. If it is genuine turquoise, it definitely looks natural. As in not stabilized. $10 is a great price in my opinion for natural turquoise specimens that size. I suppose it could be dyed magnesite. I guess you’d have to cut a piece off so you can see if it’s white inside to know that for sure. Regarding the origin of where it was mined. Personally I have no clue. Not sure if this info is even helpful. Wish I knew more.

I’d have a lapidarist skin and polish the top of the stone so you can see what you have. From there he or she can advise you on how to cut it for best results.
