I meant that the 2 type of feathers might be intended to mimic the flattened appearance of the sun as it rises or sets. But I’ll admit that’s a stretch. Just spitballing ideas really.

I’m lovin’ all these Hopi Sunface pendants and Kachinas…fun to see take subtle variation in the Sunface! This one by Charleston Lewis is the only one I have…only one style of feathers; yours is not only lovely, but definitely unique @Patina! Looks like mine needs a bit of polishing😄:
