@Patina …yes. I know you love puffy hearts…any new ones since last we mentioned them. @Steve…interesting trolly charm. I usually see them with moveable wheels but not on a platform that spins.
cable car turn around video
Dang, that stinks! Had my fingers crossed that at least the setting was the real deal.
not upset at all by the test results. the setting itself will get an update…someday.
plus there are others in the pictures that will make up for the letdown…bigly
@nanc9354 Hi ~ No, I really don’t collect puffy heart charms anymore. I tend to have a pattern: For several years, I’ll laser focus on one collectible(mostly different types of jewelry) that I want to collect, and then eventually just naturally move on to something else I’m interested in🤷♀️.
Interesting. I was on a cable car once in SF but we didn’t go on the turn around. Of course I had to visit the Gharidelli chocolate store and fill a bag.
I look for sterling sombrero’s - I have a whole charm bracelet full now, plus a large one that I’ll put on a pearl strand (copying Brit West).
I don’t remember finding one and passing it by but you can see what I was wading through
fingers on both hands were as black as those earring cards at the end of each visit
@Steve Those bins!! I love the hunt. I would’ve been at that vendor’s location all day, lol. Very unfortunately, our 2 local Gem & Mineral Shows don’t have any vendors like this. We have less vendors each year and more & more imported junk for sale🫤.
oohhhhh that gave me palpitations! i wanna dig through those bins so bad! nothing gets me fired up as much as a big pile of old linens, except for the possibilities in a bucket of silver jewelry.
@Jemez2 I’m with you on digging thru bins of jewelry! That’s my kind of fun. Starting to wonder if hubby & I should plan some vacation trips to attend Gem & Mineral Shows around the country .
You reminded me of picking through sterling. Here are the horse related items I found. Your post gave me the idea to finally clean them up. Sure is fun.
I would have spent hour there, too. So much fun.
It is a shame that many treasures like these are being sold for melt down.
when I read the descriptions of my local estate sales there are 2 words that get me on the road and there for at least one of the days they run…PICKERS / DIGGERS DELIGHT
in zip bags 1 2 & 3 above I did the “heavy lifting” for everybody. The snap of the tray was the reply I sent my wife on Sunday when she returned home from the barn and wondered where I went
picture was worth a 1000 words.
over the years I have increased my wife’s collection of horse themed jewelry.
When she had to drive to the office 5 days a week she had enough pins and broaches to rock a different one every day for a months worth of Sundays.
this dealer is proof that at least some of it is not getting melted…yet
You are a fabulous husband
I especially like the charm bracelet with the English riding boot
Most of my regular sterling has been going to auction. Based on the prices, buyers are not melting it.
The FUN of the Hunt! Were prices based on the price of sterling? Like many others here…I would be there all day. Where do you auction off your plain sterling? eBay sucks! When I get my vintage charm bracelet, I will show you. there are a few mechanical charms that I don’t have yet. @Jemez2 …I love old linens too!
I still have a load of old linens. A lot of work boiling, and starching and ironing. They are coming back. I find different auction based on what I am parting with. I’ll have to photograph the charms and charm bracelets. Too much stuff.
