The latest gem & mineral show finds

$2 per gram

on the big stuff like cuffs, biker rings etc. the gram weight made the cost of the piece painful.
after I found the “1st Easter egg” in zip bag #1 the math was in my favor with the smalls.

this little guy from zip bag 1 got separated from the rest of the family.
at 1.6 grams he don’t take up much space.

I found this piece early in the 2 hour dig of zip bag 1

Digging through that sterling scrap would’ve kept me busy for hours, too!
Taking handfuls home to polish world be so fun!

I’m like a little kid when I see boxes/trays of shiny stuff at a sale.

The sunface hallmark tells us the artist was a member of the Hopi Silvercraft Guild which started in 1949. I do not recognize the other hallmark. Earlier artists did not use texture on the inner design so maybe it is mid century?

A word of warning @Steve; this is what that can turn into :open_mouth:

typing and working a mouse 8 to 12 hours a day could lead to some serious carpal tunnel tennis elbow & rotator joint issues all on the same day

Ooh, I luv all your charm bracelets!! They’re fabulous. I “created” my puffy heart charm bracelets, vintage travel charm bracelets, and others, in the same way. I see at least 2 (shield shape) travel charms in the right-side column, 3rd bracelet from top. This was an addictive activity ~ I had to wean away from it, lol.

Great Adirondack history. Quite collectible.

Too late of a warning for me, I’m afraid. I like your mushroom charm. Another one of my hobbies.

@Steve…interesting story about how the Koops met and where they learned their silversmithing.

He is adorable!! And huge mushrooms. I don’t like to eat shrooms, but those are very cool looking for sure.

Thanks @Zia. Have you ever tried morels cooked in butter with a bit of garlic? Yum

I have not, but garlic and butter make everything better

I heartily agree with that hobby @nanc9354 . I haven’t had much luck locally. Only a few pop up in the yard now and then. I do have some great garlic getting ready.

Those are giant morels.
I make a morel omlet at times. Morels, asparagus and ramps

I found a few across the creek and around Elkhart lake. Ooohhh…nothing like fresh garlic. I have some too but won’t be ready for a few weeks. I must be north of you.

@fernwood …that sounds delicious. I should try that. I find a few wild ramps in the woods.

Definitely look European. Can you make out any marks? I think I see an “A” in the first mark.

the mark is pretty much toasted on this one at any angle & magnification.
again no biggie at about $1.32 worth of giggles

It looks like a well worn child’s birthstone ring.
Green glass, most likely.
It would be a fun pinky ring!
