I am definitely going to look for tooled purses, belts and wallets at the thrift stores.
I worked on this sample next. It was so much fun!
It’s not very good, but it’s still only my first day trying this. I have much to learn.
When I do a “real” project, I will start a thread.
In the mean time, back to the original discussion of purses and wallets! Carry on …
Here is my only contribution is this thread, unless you open it up to saddles. 
My wife’s purse that she found at a gallery in Prescott a few years ago. Completely hand tooled, carved, and painted by Stephen Vaughn.
@TAH Wow, that’s a unique & beautiful tooled leather purse. The first I’ve ever seen hand-painted.
Cool thread, guys! I have nothing to add but love seeing your beautiful purses and leather items. @Patina you have an amazing collection! And I love the wallet @Ravenscry. I’m torn between your desire to find a great silver concho for it and agreeing with @Ziacat that the artist’s original vision works just great.
And @Stracci I am so impressed! I can’t believe how quickly you picked up this hobby! I can’t wait to see where you go with it. We already know what a talented artist and craftsperson you are.
