I am trying to identify the maker, or at least the tribe, of this Silver Inlay with Turquoise belt buckle. I do know it was a gift to a past chief of the Choctaw Nation but I am unable to find out from who. It is 3 1/2" long and 2 1/2" wide. I do not see any hallmark on the buckle. The photos are hard to show the contrast between the silver and the black. It is a floral pattern and the turquoise stone is oval and mounted to the buckle with screws The stone is 1 1/2" X 1" I have found some Zuni buckles that look similar but nothing a true match.
Looks like a manufactured buckle to me, and I doubt it contains silver at all. The stone looks to be chrysocolla maybe. My humble opinion and I defer to the pros.
Here is a link that shows this type of buckles for sale.

I will agree with Christibo on this one. This is a costume jewelry piece, therefore we cannot attribute it to any one particular tribe or person. It does however, appear that the stone may be genuine, probably chrysocolla. The story attached to the piece could be true, however, without documentation it is just a story, and doesn’t add any value to the piece.
