Turquoise Artwork

Wow…I can see why you are drawn to this. The contrast and shadowing are mesmerizing. The cloud and its placement make this painting extraordinary. Thank you for posting this. Now I am interested in researching his other paintings.

Oh geez, if I did a talk show, it would take less than 10 minutes before the audience would realize this guy doesn’t know what the heck he’s talking about. :flushed:

That photo won’t work. Those two Navajo men are way more cool than us. :frowning:

Interesting guy…I enjoyed this article… Mark Maggiori gives back.

We could always just buy his wallpaper.:woman_shrugging:

Wow, what a buckle! Thanks for posting this one, Aaron. Is the photographer known?

In the short amount of time I spent looking, I couldn’t find the photographer to credit. But I agree, his belt and buckle are something else! :+1:

The twentieth anniversary of the Eiteljorg Museum’s Quest for the West art show and sale is this weekend, with the public exhibition opening tomorrow.

I saw a short reel that Mark Sublette had shared of a brief interview with William Haskell at the museum and thought that if I could make it, it would have been cool to meet him. No doubt there will be some beautiful art present!

That little YouTube bit from him came up in my feed yesterday!! I wasn’t even aware of that it was going on at the Eiteljorg this weekend till I saw it. It would have been fun! But I am enjoying having a day with nothing to do for once. I wondered if you were going

I subscribe to his channel, and this just came up in my phone. I saw that first painting, and was like, that’s at the Eiteljorg! So cool to see him talking about some of the paintings I’ve looked at many times.

The Indiana chapter of Turquoise People could have decked ourselves out in our bling and probably caught his attention!

It really would have been a neat event to attend! I know he’s mentioned in some of his videos that he really enjoys the Eiteljorg, and not too long ago he had Kathryn Haigh, current president and CEO of the establishment, as a guest on his podcast. :+1:

So, was Mark in Indy for the Indian Market?

The video I’d seen was him at Quest for the West.

Feel free to send me packing due to repetition, Tom, but I wanted to add another Mark Maggiori masterpiece.

I’m betting this Plains scout is donning German Silver earrings.

Just look at that sky. Mark has mastered clouds like McCarthy mastered boulders. :+1:

This ca. 1875-1880 Navajo manta is a perfect backdrop for Raymond Chee’s Blue Jay Song.

@Ziacat shared some of Simeon’s other work in post #143. Although Jake looks marvelous with his beautiful four petal squash and Pendleton blanket, he must not have considered the possibility of belt crazy fanatics enjoying this photo of him 118 years later. :face_with_monocle:
