This artwork is from the children’s book, Antelope, A Navaho Indian Boy, 1935. A very good friend recently gave this book to our grandson as a gift. I just had to share. :slightly_smiling_face:

This is beautiful, Tom; he seems incredibly focused and intent on his work. Works of art with the craft as the subject are my favorites. :+1: It’s a lovely painting, thank you for sharing.

I like the soft colors in these, Aaron, and I don’t think Tom Darro has ever been represented in this thread. Good find! :+1:

That’s what drew me in, as well! His works are so subdued and simply beautiful. I really like his manipulation of light. :+1:

Wow, what a stunner, Tom! She looks like she’ll just step right off the base she’s on. It’s neat to know he took the Best Sculpture Award at the Eiteljorg! Fantastic find! :+1:

While it may not be apparent, there’s definitely silver and turquoise within this beautiful painting.

Wow, this one is really beautiful, Aaron. Thanks for posting it! I didn’t know G. Harvey ever painted a Navajo. I love the old belt buckle he’s wearing under his wool coat.
