Okay, I’m breaking my own rules and posting one of my all-time favorite actors, Gene Hackman, who passed away yesterday at age 95 with his wife and dog. I couldn’t find a photo of Gene wearing Native jewelry, but I’m going to pretend he is wearing an awesome belt buckle with his Western shirt. RIP Popeye. :slightly_frowning_face:

As far as I’m concerned, Gene receives Turquoise Celebrity status for living in Santa Fe since 1990 and owning a kachina. Here are a few photos of his home from Architectural Digest.

@TAH My husband just told me this shocking news. He was one of my favorite actors, too. “Enemy of the State” is in my top five fav movies list. Thanks for posting this. RIP, Mr. Hackman.

Thank you for sharing this, Tom. Gene was certainly a legend, and a favorite of mine as well. May he rest in peace.

His home was lovely and his earning of a position in “Turquoise Celebrities” is certainly more than justified. Especially with this photo of him wearing a horseshoe belt buckle on a tooled leather belt, playing Buck Barrow in the 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde

Oh no! I hadn’t looked at the news yet. And if he lived in Santa Fe, I bet he wore western shirts and belt buckles  He had so many good movies. Some of my personal favorites were The Firm and, of course, Hoosiers.

Some of my favorite films were: The French Connection, No Way Out, Bat 21, Unforgiven, The Quick and the Dead, Geronimo: An American Legend, and Crimson Tide. Yep, his passing stings.

The Klaudt Indian Family from ND. For at least fifty years the family of gospel singers traveled the US singing, doing as many as 400 programs a year. Mother Lillian Little Soldier Klaudt was the great granddaughter of Chief Sitting Bull.

Crimson Tide was another great Hackman movie that also has one of my favorite actors - Denzel Washington (I have searched so far in vain for Denzel in turquoise).
