Hey Tom, I stumbled across some info pertaining to this old post. The gentleman on the left is Satya De La Manitou, apparently known as Hopper’s right hand man for decades. Here are a couple more great shots.
And here’s another shot of Dennis taken by Douglas Kirkland in 1972. It looks like he’s donning a Santo Domingo (Kewa) inlay shell bolo.

RIP Country Joe. (A leather guitar strap with conchos is so cool!! I’ve never seen one like this before used with my favorite instrument. Those conchos look to be fairly large, too.
