It’s unbelievably gorgeous but, oh my. To put it in perspective for me, that’s more than our first house and my first car combined; wait…more than our first house and BOTH of our latest cars combined (granted, we haven’t bought a car in quite awhile, but they were both new at the time).
They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery.
To the credit of the maker, this would be a natural item to reproduce with casting, but it looks like someone actually took the time to hand fabricate the silver work. Doesn’t look like effort was made to match the stones. Perhaps the effect is intentional.
It looks to me like on the site it’s Perry Null that’s selling it, but it’s an eBay site so I’m confused.
Perry Null also sells on eBay. The belt is listed on their website.
We were discussing Blackjack Turquoise on another thread, so I was googling it. Found this and thought I’d add this here.
Great piece of turquoise. Looks like you need another cuff @Ziacat .
@here4turquoise’s new Ira Custer pendant made me want to google some of his work again. I’m going to add these three here. These concho belts and “squash” are totally my style.
Based on your collection posts, I definitely see you wearing these!
Oh Rolanda Haloo’s inlaid birds pop up from time to time on Garlands and they ALWAYS sell right away. I agree these are super cute!
There were also hummingbirds, Cardinals and Bluebirds (actual Bluebirds, not BlueJays) on Garlands which I loved. But these were my favorite; their expressions are so cute.
I was scrolling through Garland’s cuffs, and found this. Oh, if I ever won the lottery (guess I’d have to play first)…
@Ziacat, this indeed has much going for it. The pattern of the casting, the heavily bezeled, beautiful and iconic stone, topped off with a wonderful finish, what a lovely piece.
It reminds me of an Aaron Anderson cuff I saw and was admiring a while back. While I may be most passionate about earlier, less contemporary adornment for the waist, there is no denying the craftsmanship in these cuffs, or the talent that many of these current day silversmiths possess.
Thanks for sharing @Ziacat
I spent way too much time scrolling through Garland’s, but here are some more amazing cuffs. The detail on the cliffs in this first one kinda blew my mind.
I especially love the Pueblo Church on this one…
The design composition on this cuff is beautiful.
I know this isn’t jewelry, but I saw it online (not on Garlands’ site) and thought it was incredible. I have always loved pictorial rugs, and finally we were able to buy one at Ogg’s, but it’s nowhere as detailed as this!
Darryl Dean Begay is just next level. His work is so beautiful.
@AZBoots
I agree. I always have my eyes open for DDB’s work. His pieces are unparalleled
Agree! However, that Robert Begay cuff is the first one I would buy if I had the $. Unfortunately I would have to not shop for quite some time to feel comfortable buying it
Those cuffs are ah-mazing. The detail is incredible. Better save my money!!
