Turquoise nugget necklace

Raise your hand if you believe these are Fox turquoise nuggets. The photos are a bit more blue than the true color, but they are very blue! Let’s vote😄

And how ‘bout this one? Thoughts?

I’m just not seeing what I expect to see in Fox, namely your eye has to detect a green-blue hue, truly aqua, plus golden matrix. It’s not cool in coloration, it’s warm to medium warm, is one way to put it. Baby blue is a no. Blackish brown matrix, a no.

The second necklace is perhaps possible, but the matrix is hard to interpret, maybe because of the grayish hue of the stabilizing stuff.

Nevadagem rough is a reliable standard for comparison. It makes my point about the aqua tones and golden matrix of Fox.

I love your characterization of the warm vs cool tones…

I was going to say no for the first necklace, and dunno bout the second. I am not nearly as knowledgeable as @chicfarmer or yourself, but Chicfarmer gave me some great knowledge about Fox turquoise when I posted my mom’s earrings from the forties. I also have a Fox ring (not that just one says a lot) that totally fits what Chicfarmer is saying.

Oh, and relating back to an earlier post from the last couple days…more turquoise heishi in a nugget necklace!

OK, I felt there was something off with the 1st set of beads. I never thought they were Fox, so wrong in many ways as @chicfarmer pointed out. And the fact that the beads are 100% homogeneous in color with the totally black matrix was suspicious. So I did the good ol’ nail polish remover test, and wallah…now I know. On closer inspection I found a chip at a drilled hole exposing the white interior.
The second set of beads are turquoise, just not sure what mine.

Anyone want some deep blue dyed Howlite/magnesite beads :grinning:?
