Turquoise or Howlite

I am not an expert by any means, but is gaspeite an option?

What did you pay? Where did it come from? What was said about it?

It’s unusual in that it isn’t strung in an organized fashion, as in all one size and shape of beads nor arranged to increase/decrease in sizing. The chunky pieces toward the findings have a very Chinese look to them. I’m guessing it’s beginner hobbyist beadcraft, or else a costume product from imported materials. Not turquoise, not Native American.

It’s listed as Green Turquoise. I have not bought it. When I questioned where it was purchased from, I was told from a reputable source. Yes, I noticed the mismatched shapes and stringing too. Wondered if someone had leftover stones and just strung them together or if some are real and others not.

dyed howlite or magnesite. you can tell by the string-like crackleur.

likely craft store beads. lime green gaspeite, from what i understand, is fairly rare and highly unlikely in this form.

That’s what I was leaning towards and why I highlighted those pictures. I’m learning, so I love getting feedback on how to spot and make good choices on purchases. Thank you!

This one is odd. I’also say gaspeite for the color but it looks as though there may be some real stones (of something) that appears to have a real matrix, but it’s mixed with what are surely block stones with that fake crackle on it.
