Two of my rings - help needed with turquoise identification please

I would like opinions on the type of turquoise in these two rings of mine if some of you have an idea.

The artist/maker on this first ring is VL (I don’t know who that is, maybe some of you do?)

This second ring is stamped SO with a ww type symbol between the S and the O. Again, I have no idea who that artist/maker is, maybe some of you do? I am fairly new to the site and many of you are much more knowledgeable than I am. This may be varascite rather than turquoise?

Just as a guess, I’d say Chinese Hubei on the second and probably the first one also. Nice polychrome one the second one.

add photos of the marks on the inside of the rings for a better match.

Were these sold to you as Native American? What was said about them? These aren’t helpful enough pics to really see the shanks…I have questions.

Hi chicfarmer. Yes, both sold as Native American. I am attaching additional side shots of both rings following. The 1st ring was bought too long ago somewhere in northern AZ or NM to remember details of what was said about it. I have lived in the Phoenix area for 23 years. The second ring was purchased 2 or 3 years ago at the main Gilbert Ortega Gallery shop in old town Scottsdale. The clerk (nor anybody else in the shop at the time) was unfortunately not knowledgeable enough to know who the exact maker was or the exact type of turquoise stone. They all took some guesses but not very helpful. Please see these pics and the ones of the inside in my reply to Steve. Maybe it will help. Any other questions please let me know. Thanks, Jim
