Good afternoon everyone!!!
Have a stunning Navajo cuff by Angela Lee. It’s a very large piece and I was hoping that someone might be able to identify the turquoise.
Thanks

@Lucky69 Wow, that cuff is a beauty! This is my guess about that wonderful turquoise: possibly #8 or Kingman turquoise. What do you think the turquoise might be?
ETA: The more I look at it, it may be Water Web Kingman turquoise. It’s beautiful.
Unfortunately there’s no many mines that produce similar stones it’s difficult for me to tell. I don’t think it’s kingman but I could be wrong. I don’t know how people that get vintage pieces figure out the type of turquoise things have. I have several books on turquoise and it still has me stumped. I think Royston is one that’s easier to identify along with Bisbee
Honestly, without provenance, it’s guesswork about the type of turquoise or mine. (I did add an ETA to my original post.) Hopefully, others will chime in with their thoughts.
Thanks so much for your thoughts!!
The color looks like Kingman but, the matrix has me stumped. I have a similar piece of turquoise, and I’ve never been able to identify mine either. Could be Kingman but, whatever it is, it’s a stunning cuff!
Without provenance there is no way to know for sure what mine. However, I would guess Kingman. I have a cuff with a stone (per the artist and reputable store) that is Kingman which looks very similar, including the matrix (especially the brown sections). But we are only offering educated guesses; of course it could be something else.
It is a lovely stone.
Oh come on, you know it’s Kingman ![]()
Well, I can’t say it every time ya know ![]()
