Vintage c.1982 Sterling Turquoise Chief & Cabochon Rings Pls Help Identify

Hi, what a great site! Appreciate it if anyone has some info to offer on either of these rings that belonged to my Dad.

  1. Indian Chief Ring… is it Navajo? Hallmark looks like initials “LQ” or “LO”?
  2. This ring is marked Zuni, hallmark looks like F with upside down G or G with upside down F? Type of Turquoise? Thank you so much! :pray:t3:

The Family Jewels site in Australia has your #1 ring listed as from Laura Quam (Zuni) at $159.00. I have no way to confirm this however. Needs more research.

No idea on #2.

The cheifs head ring is machine cast, not hand made. It’s possible that the initials are of the person who inlaid it; it’s also possible that the initials stand for a commercial shop, or were placed there to intentionally mislead buyers into thinking it’s a Native handmade piece. The inlay is block (plastic), and likely not done by a Native American. There’s a good chance it’s from overseas.
