This handsome ingot silver Navajo bracelet is by master Navajo silversmith Kirk Smith (d. 2012). With its emphasis on the simple beauty of masterful hand stamping and hand-worked heavy silver, the bracelet is a classic Kirk Smith tribute to early Navajo aesthetics and technique. Dimensions: height of band 9/16”. Inside circumference 5 5/8”, gap 1 ¼”, fits 6.75-6 7/8 in. wrist. Weight: an impressive 65 grams. Hallmarked KS twice, and Sterling.
The deep, precise stamping includes long, graceful feather shapes interspersed with diamond-shaped lozenges. The silver has patina including faint fine scratches and a couple of microscopic nicks. Dates circa 1980-1990.
