What stone do you think it is?

I’ve seen the similarities between the two as well and also wonder sometimes if they might actually be the same turquoise. I find it a little hard to find out. Especially Ceremonial seems to be somewhat shrouded in mystery.

I suspect both terms are descriptive/marketing terms used by the Kingman mine. They don’t seem to be separate mining areas like Ithaca Peak and Turquoise Mountain. Just a guess!

Most who’ve been engaged with Native Am jewelry for a long time never heard of Ceremonial until very recently. Surely a branding activity.

Amen. And now that stuff is all over eBay at ridiculous prices.

I confess that I am the person who bought almost all the “Ceremonial” that was recenltly available on the Kingman site. Working on some ideas for it today.

Some of it is really pretty.

Edit: I deleted most of what I first posted, because I looked back up at the top of the thread, and AC said Ceremonial Kingman is basically Kingman with red swirling matrix, so not what I have in my ring.

I also really like it, whether called Phoenix Rising or Ceremonial. Often rich multiple colors and beautiful swirly patterns. I bought a few grams of Phoenix Rising a while ago and it’s among my favorite turquoise

To me, what’s in your ring looks like what’s considered “red” and it’s swirled.

That’s not my ring. I’m not the OP of this thread.
