Whirling logs ring

Any thoughts on this ring?

It is always difficult to know exactly what we are looking at. The ring appears to definitely have some age and wear. We think of the whirling log as before World War II, so I guess you are asking if this ring is before 1940? I always think of the old pieces being stamped into the silver instead of a construction like this that has a soldered piece (cast?) with the whirling log. I also think of these early silversmiths as perfectionist, the stamp work being very clean and the stamps distinct (they are handmade). This ring just doesn’t give me a clear answer.

Looks cast to me, Jason.

I was wondering if it might be cast. It is a bit heavier than other pressed metal rings from that period. But still not too heavy.

Yes, I wasn’t sure if this symbol was used post war. I would think maybe not.

The original ring this was cast from was hand made. However, visible mold lines, surface flaws, porosity, etc. indicate this is a cast down from the original.
