Who made my earrings? Which ‘JF’?

I have been looking for information on these earrings for quite a while and couldn’t make out the ‘signature’ on the back. Someone on another board recently told me my JF belonged to Jeronimo Fuentes. Looking online for other pieces of his, they seem to be bold, colourful and heavily enamelled…so now I’m thinking that may not be correct,

I would appreciate any information that I can get to help to identify the silversmith and the technique used on them.

I love them, but can no longer wear screw backs and these are a bit too heavy to convert I think.

Check out Jeanne & Felix Tsinijinnie, Navajo and Federico Jiménez Mexican. Info from Artamerindien.

Both use a similar JF mark, but the J is slightly different. The 925 might indicate Mexican origin, but not necessarily definitive.

FYI; on the Mexico Hallmarks page under Individual Vintage Mexican Makers Marks C-L listed as “unknown” is JF in addition “enamels derivative of Margot”
IDENTIFIED: JF is “Jose Federico” of Taxco
He is known for his Guilloche/Enamel pieces.
“JF”, Jose Federico, the Mexican silver enamelist following into Margot de Taxco’s footsteps.

Though Federico is not mentioned to my knowledge in any of the classic reference books on vintage Mexican silver jewelry there is one exception; the work of Leslie Pina (Mexican Silver Jewelry Details, see p. 8-9).

I recently acquired a couple of Jose Federico’s Enamel Brooches/Pins, the Matador and a Tribal Warrior with full head dress!
Each piece is Hallmarked in 4 places as follows;
JF
925
Sterling Hecho en Mexico (in circle)
Eagle Stamp with
#3

This is definitely Mexican jewelry, not Native American. Should be moved to the appropriate thread.
