Wire Wrapped Amethyst

Received this wire wrapped chevron amethyst pendant yesterday.
Co-worker Nathaniel did not disappoint. He is very talented at wire wrapping.

Even the back is cleanly done.

The pendant is 2 ¼” long.
I had the cabochon for many years before deciding what to do with it.
Now I have to make a woven black leather cord with a copper clasp for it.

So pretty. And I love the chevron pattern in the amethyst.

I love the chevron pattern, too. He tried to do the wrap in a pattern that highlighted the stone.

This is really pretty!
It almost looks like Blue John fluorite.

Wow, what a cool stone. You’re definitely sure it’s amethyst?

Yes, it is amethyst. The color on photos is off here. They were fine on my laptop.

I tried to get a better photo that shows the true color. In addition to amethyst color ranging from very dark to light, there are some pale yellow areas.

Yesterday I made a cord for the pendant. It is braided leather from Thunderbird Supply.
I usually put wire wrapped and more intricate pendants on leather cords. To me, metal chains often distract from the beauty of the pendant.

I like it like that. I often wear my pendants on a simple leather cord.
