I recently bought a belt buckle at an antiques and collectibles show. It has a Hopi Silversmith Guild sun hallmark on the back, as well as a four pointed star with what appear to be teardrops on three of the four points (which is listed as maker unknown in Hopi Silver: The History and Hallmarks of Hopi Silversmithing).
I’m interested in what the symbols in the two repeating patterns on the buckle represent. Any guess as to the age of the buckle would also be appreciated.
