Anyone heard of Bisbee Bob?

Sorry for the late response…I was trying to locate this Bisbee Bob set. It has a reversible pendant with turquoise (I’m thinking this is probably stabilized and not Bisbee, but maybe a more knowledgeable can chime in?) on one side and Anasazi pottery on the other side. The earrings are also pottery shards. From what I understand, he was known for his pottery jewelry, as well as turquoise, at least some of which was Bisbee. It sounds like he likely used what was handy at the time after his initial collection of Bisbee turquoise was used? My knowledge of Bisbee Bob is based almost exclusively from what is listed here. He sounds like quite the character!

How lovely that you have rings by Bisbee Bob that your mother chose and wore. I’ll bet you treasure them! I have jewellery that I inherited from my late mother, and I cherish these pieces all the more because she loved them so much.

No pressure but if you’d like to share a photo or two, I would love to see them. Bisbee Bob is before my time but he sure is a legend!

Hi & Welcome. Nice pendant. In my opinion, I don’t believe it’s Bisbee turquoise. Without provenance, though, it’s near impossible to accurately determine the mine or type of turquoise. It’s pretty much guesswork. If you type Bisbee Bob in the forum’s search field, previous threads will come up with questions & info about this silversmith.

Hello All,

Trying to research Bisbee Bob and came upon this thread…I see a lot of turquoise and sterling pieces. But I was gifted from my grandmother’s estate this malachite and gold pendant

And was wondering what you all think of it and what it might be worth?

Please and thank you

My husband passed away last year. He had inherited stuff years ago from his grandfather who had a bit of a love affair with the southwest. Among the things were a few pieces of jewelry. Over the years my husband would take them out and look at them, try them on and then put them away.
Recently I’ve been going through stuff, trying to assess what we have when I opened the box with his granddad’s stuff. There is some turquoise jewelry, one ring that’s tigers eye and another that could be malachite. Looking at them for any markings I almost gave up when I saw one of the turquoise rings had Bisbee Bob stamped on it!
This forum is the only place I’ve been able to find any information about him. What a life! It sounds like he saw and experienced a lot. My late husband’s grandfather went out west a couple of times in the 60s and early 70s to New Mexico and Arizona. He was a quiet, private man so he didn’t return East with stories and photos. He simply said he enjoyed himself.
I have no way of knowing whether he actually met Bob or just bought the ring from his shop. I don’t know if the other pieces were made by Bob as they’re not marked; I suspect one may be.
I started on a quest to discover the maker of a ring I found in a box and maybe what its value is. I ended up reading a lifetime of stories about a man that people really loved. That is priceless.
