Approximate age of brooch is possible

Wondering if anyone can give me an approximate age on this piece? I fell in love with him when I seen his mean old looking head.

I love it! I can’t make a guess on age, cause even when they look older, I know that can be done on purpose. The angry bird does have a Fred Harvey look. Till you showed the back side of it, I thought it was a buckle.

That is a mystery! It looks like the top piece comes down (looking at the hinges)? Some kind of work desk?

This is a saddle makers bench for hand stitching. I have my Grandfathers, and since I do a lot of tack repairs, it gets used all the time.
