Eiteljorg Indian Market & Festival 2026

Advance tickets are available for purchase for the 2026 festival! There has been some loose discussion on other members potentially planning to go; I figured if I shared the link below that I just received, it would provide as much time as is possible for any that aren’t subscribed to the Eiteljorg’s emails.

Now there can be no excuses.

Well…how about it’s difficult to do the Eiteljorg AND Santa Fe indian Market!
I’d love to go sometime, but we’re going on a rod trip to Texas in April, a Northern European Cruise in June and then SantaFe in August!!! Whew!
But, we won’t be traveling this much most years, so hopefully it is in my future!

We joined the museum  looking forward to our first visit!

Most difficult, indeed! I think it’s great you’re getting out there. :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s a good thing no one here is pushing attendance to the Old West & Native American Art Show or Whitehawk…I’d have nothing but excuses. :speak_no_evil_monkey:

Well this is awesome! Perhaps those of us that are able to make it can put some faces to these names. :slightly_smiling_face::+1:

I admit I am slightly disappointed that certain artists are not on the list for this year. Oh well, that will leave me more $ for AZ and NM.

Oh I better go look at the artist list. Didn’t realize it’s up.

I just looked at it last night. I’m sure there’s a lot of great artists on there, but no Mary Tafoya , Robert Johnson, or the gentleman I bought the cuff from last year, Pete Johnson. I was really looking forward to seeing some of his work again, because he doesn’t have much in stores or online. He also isn’t on Facebook or Instagram. Apparently he’s in full-time construction, and until he retires he can’t make a lot of jewelry. Reggie Mitchell and Cheyenne Custer have not been back for the last couple years.

I did see a Hopi jewelry artist (Antone Honanie) that I don’t believe has been there, at least in recent years that I’m aware of.

Yeah very disappointing about Mary Tafoya, :slightly_frowning_face: but I do see your Milford Calamity, so that’s good–I didn’t get to interact with him when I was there previously. There are a lot of names I don’t recognize, so a lot to discover.

I was sorry not to see Ric Charlie and Nanibaa Beck in the lineup.

I was hoping she would have her hummingbird pendants this year. She has been there for as long as I can remember. Maybe she has some health issues or is just tired of all the travel. And yes Milford Calamity is there. And Lita Atencio; I really would like to look at more of her heishi necklaces.

Lita A is a danger zone for me (lol)! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: Also there are several Reano family members, so I’ll certainly be checking out their tables. Lita’s offerings are so gorgeous and sorta irresistible.

I hope it’s not similar to what happened years ago with antiques: poor economy, higher cost of goods sold, increased expenses, and poor sales.

I am interested in this artist, because over the years there have been very few Hopi artists at the market. I picked up on his last name in the list, because I have a cuff made by Hallie Honanie which I bought many years ago at a store on the Hopi reservation.

I hope not, but there are still as many artists this year as last - I think around 140 +. As far as Mary Tafoya, she was selling boatloads of jewelry last year, however she is getting older, has become very popular and may not need to come all the way to Indiana for the market.

I have to remember that well known artists have come and gone over time at the market. Years ago even Mary Lovato and Duane Maktima participated.

That’s a lot of dealers and encouraging to hear. Perhaps you will see new artists and be “forced” to make more purchases.

I may want to hang on to my Mary anniversary shirt in case it becomes a collectible  (even though it’s seen better days).

I wore it this morning with the first piece I ever bought from her.

I admit to being very fond of my shaggy matching shirt to yours. OK FINE I will keep it too.

@Ziacat and @chicfarmer, What wonderful shirts…thumbs up to both of you! it’s a keeper!
@chicfarmer, I didn’t know anything about Lita Atencio until you posted her fabulous 10 strand Sleeping Beauty fine-heishi necklace some time ago…her name is now on my ever-growing list of artists I need to check out.
I’m wondering if Piki will be at the Eiteljorg. I’ve heard she didn’t make the cut for Santa Fe Market…hard to believe! There are so many wonderful Kewa Heishi artists, hope Lita A will be at Santa Fe!
I won’t make Eiteljorg (someday :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:); but am going to Santa Fe. Looking forward to seeing your wonderful finds!

@Ziacat I’m sure you must have shared this pendant before, but OMG I love it! It’s a little different from most of Mary’s work that I’ve seen.

Have so much fun you guys! Lester Abeyta is another Kewa beadwork artist who’s hand rolled necklaces I enjoy.
