Since the gold rush days gold laced quartz has been used in jewelry. I have been repurposing vintage and antique settings using GLQ. I found a great supplier. The lost was ring has a gem grade rare California “16 to 1” Mine cab and the small ring has a cab from an unknown California mine.
GLQ is competitive and more often then not, less expensive than good quality turquoise.
Thank you for sharing this — like @Ziacat , I hadn’t heard of gold laced quartz before. Wonderful to see examples of it in both uncut and jewellery forms.
Somewhere around here I have a cuff bracelet with that. It’s stuck somewhere in a box of costume jewelry because it was silver plate. I really like the quartz though.
Might be worth a second closer look @Islandmomma . They typically only used GLQ in precious metals. I’ve never seen it in sterling or white gold but you never know.
