Updated 6/19 to include photos - sorry about that everyone!!!
Hello - I inherited this squash blossom necklace from my Grandmother, who was Osage from Oklahoma. I’d love to know more about it, particularly what type of turquoise it might be. One native jeweler told me that she thought it might be Bisbee turquoise but another thought Morenci. I haven’t been able to find a makers mark on it, but Mother thinks my Grandmother may have purchased it in the 60s and that she paid around $900 for it at the time. Any thoughts would be appreciated! My Grandmother was always wearing it and it’s a very special piece to me.
@NGray Hi & Welcome. Please post clear photos of the entire front & back of your Squash Blossom necklace. When uploading pics, it’s important to wait until you see “100%” before uploading your next photo. Thanks!
Just to second what @Patina said – we can’t tell you much about your squash blossom necklace until you post some pictures Good photos of both front and back would be ideal. You’d be surprised how much you can learn from the back of a piece!
You can find detailed instructions on attaching photos to a post in this thread.
@NGray That’s a very nice squash blosssom necklace that you’ve inherited. Looks like there may be some pyrite & quartz inclusions in the turquoise. It doesn’t really look like Bisbee to me, though without provenance, it’s challenging to determine the type of turquoise. Your SB looks like it could be from the '60s - '70s.
