Interesting thrifting find

No worries on this forum too much since it is a limited audience. I never tell a store of a find though.

Checked surnames in Germany, and Kraisinger is very uncommon and apparently found only in the German state of Nordrhein-Westfalen, in or immediately around Duesseldorf. Another form of the name would be Kreisinger which is still rare but has wider distribution. Distribution of surname KRAISINGER - Germany Surname Map

The person must have been popular. I found another on Etsy.

possible this person?

“Named after Albert Kraisinger, a native of Bohemia in the Austria/Hungarian Empire, the Albert town site became home to settlers from Austria, Prussia and Wurttenberg. Most of them were farmers, but other were laborers of other types such as millers, carpenters and shoe makers.”

Speaking of rosaries, I found this one in a local thrift store a few months ago. I paid $3.50
I think it is 1900-1920s?
Sterling with purple glass beads. Very long, too!

I really want the old-old ones. 6 or 7 layer genuine trade beads. 1600’s.
There’s a necklace in an antique mall nearby with a huge bead in the center but they want $$$$ for it.

I had no idea they were that expensive until I researched them. I had a necklace with some small six layer beads on it. I don’t know enough to buy them though, all of mine were thrift or flea market finds. I kinda remember seeing a chevron necklace worn on here. I can’t remember who it was but it was beautiful

Thanks to @Steve’s sharp imaging I was able to turn up a crafter on Etsy selling their bronze recast from a German original. Is yours bronze, @CyanideRose18?

So, what are “six layer” beads? Trade beads? Chevron beads? (are those the multicolor, fluted looking beads in the necklace?)

@CyanideRose18, @Stracci, @Patina This is my strand of Chevron beads, I don’t know if it’s the ones you were talking about or not! If it was it would have been in this last pic that you saw it, in a thread about “Do you ever wear more than one ring at a time”.
