All I could find was this, but the hallmark appears to be different.

Thank You, i just emailed them. This piece looks nothing like whats on the website. It appears to be done in the Hopi overlay technique.

Can you let us know what you learn about it? I couldn’t find anything else with the hallmark, but I don’t have the giant awesome hallmark book

Would you mind showing us the front?

James, who passed in 1996, was my younger brother. If i’m not mistaken this a turtle from his “Fanta Se” line designed in the late 80s. Let’s have a look at the flip side.

Oh my goodness! Would you believe I even wondered if he could possibly be related to you? How cool!

Yes, I agree with @StevesTrail, I’m sorry for your loss also. I was so surprised by your response I missed that. So hard to loose a sibling, especially a younger one.

Jim was awesome. Funny. Rapier wit. Never met a stranger. Still visit with him in dreams. Wherever he is he seems to still be in the jewelry business, and very busy

That’s it. The price is unbelievable! Less than it wholesaled for in 88’. Someone better grab that one before it gets away!

The necklace is lost wax cast from handmade masters. James had his own casting shop and employed Native silversmiths and artisans from the Navajo and surrounding pueblo reservations.

I’m so sorry to hear about your brother’s passing. His necklace is absolutely wonderful! Someone’s going to be mighty lucky to get this beauty.

I agree, and thank you, @Patina. Jim passed a month before he and his fiance, Diane Ignaccolo were to be married. We dearly love Diane who had given up her career in fashion design to live and work with Jim in New Mexico, and decided to honor their union by having her inherit his home and business, as it would rightfully have been hers just a month later. Diane stills owns and operates the business, and has a great husband and a son, both of whom are family.

I don’t want to bid against my forum friends. Is anyone going for it?

@here4turquoise Sadly, I won’t be bidding on it. I personally don’t do any online auctions/bidding. Just not my cup-of-tea. However, if I did, I would absolutely be bidding on this necklace. I say go for it :slightly_smiling_face:.

Really sad story. I’m sorry.
Amazing art. For me it looks like from a real master. Clean design, full of character and beauty.

Thanks @nanc9354 & @gt75. James was a natural and very talented designer who like me, learned his craft from Native silversmiths in Gallup working first with Sunrise Traders, and then with Thunderbird Supply, before opening his own production shop in the late 70s.
