Less common, unusual Native American jewelry

I’m certain a lot of us have uncommon pieces of Native American jewelry. Let’s share these creative atypical fun pieces! I’ll go first; this is a Zuni pin by Reynetsa Leland. I keep it up against the lamp on my desk and love looking at it. The little wheels even turn!

That is so cute. That the wheels turn is impressive.
Do you know what the yellow/orange material is?

The large yellow orange piece is spiney oyster .

That’s so cute!! I love how the striations in the spiny oyster go horizontally.

What a wonderful piece, playful and colourful!

This is a Navajo brooch by Harry Martinez. The turquoise is a little rough, but I could not resist the hot air balloon design! Although it may not be quite as rare a subject as I imagined when I bought it?

P.S. @Bmpdvm , between us we seem to have created a transportation theme

Ha, Ha!!! Maybe someone has an airplane😆

Your cute lil’ balloon would fit right in at the ABQ balloon fiesta!

Sorry, no more transportation pieces to add, but I’m pretty sure there are some members on here that have pick up truck jewelry (I wouldn’t mind finding a Chevy bowtie symbol belt buckle, but I suspect that might have some copyright issues) I will add these two that I’ve posted previously.

This whimsical Mary Tafoya pendent makes me smile. To me the wee caterpillar looks like he’s looking at the flower and thinking, “someday I’ll be able to sip its nectar!”

And this Robert Livingston/BritWest pendant totally appealed to me, because I hadn’t seen anything quite like it. I love Saguaros.

I wouldn’t call these pendants unusual, maybe a little less common (at least to me). The pendant on the left may represent Star of David. Both are hallmarked but unidentified. I have no idea if these are NA made.

Is the the pendent on the left possibly a Tommy Singer?

@Ziacat Thank you! Wow, the 2nd row, 4th from left hallmark sure looks like the hallmark on my pendant. The top portion of the “S” is noticeably larger than the bottom portion on both hallmarks.

Here’s a link to a pretty good discussion on here, and towards the bottom there’s a photo from another book with that mark.

Love all of these unique pieces, thank you for sharing.
I love my warrior pin, about 21/2” Bisbee Bob

Hi @Begonias, I also love your Warrior pin…truly unique. I’d buy it if I came across it! I’m a real pushover for interesting pins/brooches. Thanks for sharing this one!

That little train is adorable! I love the wheels that move; I usually associate them with covered wagon pieces.

@Begonias, your warrior pin is super appealing, and the blue and orange colours really pop. I’m assuming it’s an archer due to the bow and what looks like a quiver full of arrows?

This little coyote pin/pendant is a little unusual, by Zuni artist Andrea Lonjose Shirley.

Your coyote is very appealing! I love his little polka-dot bandana.

Now that is a nice coyote! So well done. That carved turquoise bandana close up is amazing. I don’t think I’ve seen other pieces by this artist but I’ll keep my eyes open for her work!
