My Favorite Ring

For those of you who are not familiar with this beautiful work by Bert Geer Phillips, here it is. The original painting is in the Eiteljorg Museum.

Oh boy…love these submissions and info here! Very informative stuff.

Favorite is hard to pick. I narrowed mine down to three :grin: for different reasons.

Y’all have seen Ole Green before and we all think Carico Lake. Not NA made but handmade by someone.
I love the interlocking setting and design and wear this one frequently. It’s a great antique piece.

This one has an amazing, vibrant stone. Made by Jeri Clark, Navajo. I stare at my hand all day.

Art, pure art. And awesome Dry Creek turquoise. This one is Emer Thompson and it’s so fun. Even kitty-cat loves it. LOL. A statement ring and a half!

Beautiful! I especially love the middle one.

Your kitty looks like mine, green eyes and all.

@Ziacat thank you!

I think gray striped cats are a pretty standard issue color, haha. She has a little different markings, though. More like concentric circles on each side.
That cat has so much personality. She looks like she’s plotting something.

My three favorites. The abstract looking ring is by Michael Durkee. The second ring unsigned but I’m confident it’s a Clem Nalwood and the beautiful turquoise ring is signed Platero.

I can see why. Outstanding. :+1:

Love, love, love! Especially the Platero one. It looks like some natural Kingman I have in a cuff.

They are, but the gooseberry green eyes are a bit unusual. Here’s my Mosi…

her eyes don’t look as green here, but they are quite goosberryish.

Do you know what the turquoise is on the one on the left? It’s really pretty.

All 3 rings are awesome, I meant the stone is pretty too😁

@Ziacat such beautiful, large eyes!!

So another post got me thinking about Hopi jewelry, and I remembered that I have a Hopi ring that is one of my very favorites, so I thought I would add it to this thread.

It sits on my finger very nicely, and I love the lizards. The Hallmark is DL which my Hopi book says is Dawn Lucas.

I love how their little tails curl around.

Beautiful ring, I love lizards too. I had little lizard pets many years ago :grinning:

I’ve got a Hopi cuff with a lizard on it also; I kind of look for them sometimes. One of my nephews is the superintendent at Colorado National Park near Grand Junction, and they have the coolest lizards there in the park. He had a pet Iguana once, but I like the sound of your little lizards better!

They were pretty cool pets. I had an iguana too :smile: My husband wants nothing to do with them, so no more lizard pets for me. I think he may be afraid of them :grin:

BTW, my hubby says I should have started my first response with “These are a few of my favorite rings…”

Hahahaha me too. It’s so tough to pick just three. I must have 100 rings. Maybe 20 or so NA. I kinda feel like I wear different pieces depending on my mood. Of course only having a few would definitely spare my wallet for sure :rofl:

Oh I hear you on that!!

Ok, I’m finally getting around to posting a ring on this thread. I don’t know if it’s my favorite, I’d rather not have to choose, but it’s one of my favorites. 1950’s or 60’s Zuni inlay knifewing ring with carved jet wings and tail.
