My Favorite Ring

That ring is spectacular! The carved wings and tail really set it off.

It’s amazing!! Does it catch on stuff when you wear it?

Thanks! It doesn’t catch on things too badly, although I will say I keep an “awareness” of it when I’m wearing it, if that makes sense.

This is my newest favorite. I really liked the $5 price tag on this one. I feel very lucky to have it.

@Ziacat comparing your 2 rings is like apples and oranges…both so wonderful in their own way! However the blue gem ring would be my #1😊

This has been an Interesting discussion, especially regarding cluster rings. I’m posting my favorite cluster ring. This ring was in a group of pieces I purchased from the estate of parents of a friend. They were avid collectors the late 50’s through the 70’s. I’ve been told the turquoise is Lone Mountain. Unlike most cluster rings, this ring does not have serrated bezels. I’ve always thought the “shot” between the stones is handmade (?). I’d appreciate your opinion @mmrogers and others. Thanks :blush:

Beautiful cluster ring! Stones are gorgeous.One rarely sees matched sets in this quality.

Shot is 100% hand made as is the rest of the ring. A real treasure!

treasure indeed! i’ve been looking for a cluster like this for years - not too big, really good stones, not calibrated cabs (slightly irregular shapes), handmade, chunky shank… yummy!

Sorry I missed this thread when it was first posted. Love the knowledge shared by all with a large tip of the hat to @mmrogers !

found at the Gathering of Nations in 2019 with no other history. Authenticated as Bisbee by a well known authority. Has become my second favorite. And yes, it is cracked but secure (part of why I got it for a song).

The snake motif is my favorite in part because it meant so much to my dad (who I believe received it as a gift from my mom in the 60’s). You can see so much of the detail has been loved off of it over the past 6 decades (the last one under my care). Much discussion and disagreement as to the maker. Personally, I think it was either Dan Simplicio or Juan Calavaza.

Oooo, the cluster rings I’m seeing! :heart_eyes::heart_eyes::heart_eyes: I’m always partial - and for some reason I really like my old gnarly ones. I have yet to figure out why. :woman_shrugging:

Speaking of clusters, I saw this on the bay today and thought it was pretty. Description says 1940s. I know I’m hijacking my own thread, but…

@OrbitOrange, that is a spectacular Knifewing! It’s hard to find small ones that are done really well like that.

@Bmpdvm, Amazing Cluster!
