N. P. Coriz necklace

I am not familiar with this type of necklace but it caught my eye. N. P. Coriz is not in Hougart’s 5th.
Do you all think it’s vintage? Is it Santo Domingo?
Like I said, it just caught my eye.

@here4turquoise Hi ~ Horsekeeping, LLC online has a piece hallmarked N.P. Coriz. They’ve attributed the piece to Nestoria “Pat” Coriz. The necklace you’re looking at is a super nice necklace. Not sure if it’s vintage, but looks like SD/Kewa, imo.

Your necklace is indeed Santo Domingo (today known as Kewa). Both N Coriz and N P Coriz are hallmarks for Nestoria Coriz. She has been involved with jewelry making since the 60s +/-. Depending on when your necklace was produced, it could be considered vintage (30+ years old). Nice necklace!

Thank @Ziacat I thought of you when I was shopping in Tucson. I saw corn earrings. IIRC they were Anthony Lovato.

Great necklace by Nestoria Coriz. I have several of hers and a couple by her son Daniel.

The two on the right are by Nestoria. The far right is ‘70’s Gaspiete. Necklace on the left is Lupe Lovato.
I hope you are able to add the necklace that you are looking at to your collection.

Lovely! What kind of turquoise is in the Lovato necklace?

Thank you it makes a really nice bib. My friend met him at Indian Mart and one day when we were together, she messaged him with a picture of the necklace and asked him if it was actually his. He confirmed it, but then never answered the rest of the questions. I would love to know and I would really like this new testing that they’re working on to finally get to the point where they could actually check a piece of jewelry and identify the turquoise. I think they’re making pretty good strides, but we’re still at our take a shot in the dark guesses.

A jacla was not on my radar or want list for this trip as I had never really looked at them. I looked, tried it on and had the shop hold it for 24 hours. After we left, I could not stop thinking about it.

I had heard the name Coriz but never pursued it. When I looked the jacla and it said N. P. Coriz, I immediately thought of @Stracci and her friend Rodney. When we got to the car and browsed through the Hougart’s 5th, I was disappointed by not finding N. P. Coriz. So I post the necklace’s info here and my forum friends never let me down.

I am pleased to report that I am now a Coriz owner. Thank you to @Patina @Bmpdvm and @Islandmomma for helping me with this purchase. @Ziacat is always here to cheer us on!
Are there any guesses on the turquoise mine? The gal helping me didn’t want to guess but did let me know the ends are MOP. Any and all guesses are appreciated.

Thank you @Islandmomma Your collection inspired me.
I was mainly looking at bracelets but didn’t find any that I absolutely loved. On the way out the door I saw this necklace. I had overlooked it while looking at bracelets.

Yay! You found something beautiful that you love! Isn’t that so wonderful? It is an absolutely gorgeous necklace. The turquoise is such a wonderful color - although I have no guess on the mine (I suppose here is where I say Kingman ).

I know you will have so much fun wearing it!
