Trying to learn more about my spiderwebbed turquoise earrings

I received these earrings recently and am trying to learn more about the turquoise and the hallmark. They have great spiderwebbing and look like they are trying to get a green shading near the top edge of the turquoise. I checked the hallmark in Hougart’s and the only DR was Dennis Ramone. The book lists him as San Felipe, active since the 50’s. Cast work. I was wondering if the turquoise is Kingman. Can anyone shed some light on the turquoise, hallmark and possibly age? Thanks for your help.

@Jason do you have time to give me an opinion on these please? Thanks

I found a few pieces by Dennis Ramone that had the hallmark and the style of the DR doesn’t match. That doesn’t mean that it is not his, but I might keep researching. I almost think it could be variscite? I know my example doesn’t match but it is like turquoise and has lots of different looks.

Thank you. I wasn’t convinced that it was Ramone either but Hougart’s was what I had handy and his was the only name. Variscite makes sense and would explain the greenish tint I’m seeing in places. I’ll do some more looking. I appreciate your input. :slightly_smiling_face:

Those are really lovely - I like the stones

I LOVE these-- the proportions are nice and they are just a little unusual. Is there a name (like “picture frame” or “window pane” for this style of square/rectangular cut, especially in earrings?

Thank you. I do not know if there’s a specific name I just know that when I saw them I flipped. Said sold immediately. I was kind of afraid they would be too long because I usually have on shirts with collars and buttons but they actually work really well. Super comfortable. I hope you find a good pair.
