Turquoise Artwork

I just thought this was too cool. Below is a current work in progress of Mark’s, and the only painting I’ve seen of his that showcases turquoise (as well as coral for that matter) jewelry.

Great find, Aaron! Looking forward to seeing the finished piece one day. No doubt, it will be awesome. :slightly_smiling_face:

I may have dropped my jaw a bit when I saw this today, seeing the jewelry take shape in what will no doubt be a masterpiece was a joy!

Have you ever come across one of Mark’s paintings, Tom, that hint at the subjects wearing jewelry? In the last one I shared, Tiwa, I thought that it appeared that “Peter”, on the right, may have been donning a ketoh or cuff, but thought that it could just as easily be the cuff of his long sleeve shirt. :face_with_monocle::nerd_face:

Hey Aaron, only this one that I posted back in September 2024. Post #250.

Thanks Tom! :man_facepalming: I should have ran back through Mark’s work before making my previous comment. I really like this one. :+1:

I’m going to add this painting from the Eiteljorg’s art gallery. I see a turquoise ring, and I believe a silver cuff.

Dang it’s not wanting to add the photo, give me a moment…

My phone is being stupid. I had to screenshot my own photo, because the original wouldn’t add :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Thanks to the nudge from @TAH, I’m adding this from the weavings thread. :slightly_smiling_face:

Bolo is 3-1/2” diameter and overall length of bolo is 48” lanyard. This piece won an honorable mention in 2023 at the Heard Museum Market. It has inlay in the shades, bandana, moon, shooting star and micro inlay on the necklace and on the bolo tips.

Oops :flushed: I completely forgot, because this thread has gotten so long. I’ll delete it.

Picture from the July issue of 1976 Arizona Highways. This could go in two different threads - rugs and here

I saw this rug on Garland’s website. It’s called “Navajo Weavers.”
