@Punkyof6 It’s good to know the search is still on for Paul Newman. Hard to say, but his pendant doesn’t scream Native American. Nevertheless, I enjoyed seeing this old photo. Thanks for posting!

I believe this is a Thai Buddha amulet that Paul Newman is wearing. Buddha is emerging from a lotus blossom.

@Stracci, I was just about to say that I think it’s a (somewhat stylized) Buddha pendant. I was able to find a higher-res version of the photo online. Here’s a close-up of it. Well, as close up as I could get, anyway…

This may be an antique seal fob (used to stamp wax seal on your olden times letters) that Paul Newman is wearing - it’s fuzzy when the image is blown up of course, but the first thing that popped in my head.
EDIT: , didn’t read down far enough, the buddha may be more accurate.
