I actually think that Carl and Irene Clark buckle is a fake. Though the microinlay at first glance appears impressive, it’s nowhere near the detail and fineness that they are famous for, and it appears to have some block materials. The hallmark and silver work don’t look right either.
Compare to the fineness, quality and hallmark here:
I love Rolanda Haloo’s bird jewelry. Every once in a while those peices pop up on Garlands and they ALWAYS sell right away. As in, I’ve never had a shot at one, despite sometimes checking the site as frequently as daily.
That’s gorgeous too, and it looks very close to the one I posted except with some stamping, less oxidation and no turquoise. You said you tried it on, but did you buy it?
I just looked again since you mentioned the earrings; they have these on Garland’s today, and unfortunately all but one are sold. I love that hummingbird pendant!!
This is…deadly. A perfect gent’s necklace, says it all so simply and elegantly. Just look at those bezel teeth, like little paws hugging the stones. Gah.
Just plain yummy!! Love these fabulous beads and naja. Beautifully simple yet such amazing work! Good catch on the “cool” bezel @chicfarmer! And the square cabs! I almost bought a somewhat similar one at Rainbowman in Santa Fe. So hard to decide between these wonderful heavy old pieces and the amazing work by the contemporary artists! What’s a person to do?
Well, break the bank and buy both, of course! Hahaha. Seriously, I know the dilemma; sometimes I kick myself later when I didn’t just bite the bullet. I joke, but with a grain of salt. There are times that I’ve walked away from a piece that I realized later that I should have gone ahead and swallowed the cost. Case in point the 1920s Thunderbird necklace that I kept on thinking he would never sell, and he finally did.
I was able to save this bracelet today. The previous owner was not kind to it but I managed to bring it back and also leave some indication of vintage age.
